Blocked, burst or leaking in Seville?
Blocked drains, burst pipes and leaks in Seville, from the newly kerbed streets to the gravel roads, passed to a licensed plumber day and night.

Road works that move the water
On one group of Seville streets council has crowned the asphalt, allowing stormwater to sheet either side of the road, with rollover kerb on both sides. Roof and driveway water meets that kerb line, so an outlet is planned to suit it.
On another group, council says the new surface will generally sit higher than the old one, and that driveways will be reinstated as best as possible. A raised road changes the fall from the street, so driveway grates, pits and outlets are checked against the new level before the old drainage is trusted.
A third group of streets has rollover kerb with underground longitudinal drainage as required, which can give a property a defined outlet. Council is asked where the legal point of discharge now sits before a connection is made.

Seville questions
Higher roads, new kerbs and gravel sections
What about the roads that were never sealed?
Associated underground drainage was part of council's plan for one gravel road, but its update says the money was not there. Until that changes there is no kerb pipe to join, so roof and driveway water has to reach a legal point of discharge another way, and council says where.
Is jetting the answer to a slow stormwater pit?
Not on its own. Silt and gravel from unsealed driveways settle in pits, so they are cleaned out first and the outlet pipe is checked for fall afterwards.
Why might a downpipe overflow in heavy rain?
A downpipe sized for a smaller roof, or a pit choked with gravel, overflows long before the street drain does. Both are checked before a new outlet is dug.
