Leak detection in Melbourne
A meter that keeps turning with every tap off, a damp patch that will not dry, or a bill that jumps. Finding the leak first means opening up only what has to be opened.
Leak detection
How a hidden leak is found
The meter test
Every tap off, the meter read twice. If it moves, there is a leak somewhere after the meter.
Listening and pressure
Acoustic gear and pressure testing narrow the leak down to a section of pipe.
Then the repair
Once the leak is pinned down, the repair is priced on what it takes to reach it.

How it works
From the first message to a plumber on site
One message or call, and the job goes to the plumbing company that does it.
Tell us what has gone wrong
What is blocked, burst or leaking, where it is, and whether water or sewage is still running.
The job goes to Plumb & Co
Your details go straight to Plumb & Co, a Melbourne plumbing company, and they arrange a plumber to come out.
The cause is found first
Whose pipe it is, yours or the water corporation's, is worked out before anything else, with a camera where the cause is hidden.
A price before the work
Nothing is started until you have the price for the job and have said yes to it.
Leak questions
Bills, slabs and walls
How do I check for a leak myself?
Turn off every tap and appliance that uses water, note the meter reading, wait an hour without using water, and read it again.
Can a leak under the slab be fixed without digging the floor up?
Sometimes the pipe can be bypassed through the wall or the ceiling instead. The plumber explains the options once the leak is found.
Is the water corporation responsible?
Only on the street side of the meter. From the meter to the house, the pipe is the owner's.
